María José Alcalde’s practice area focuses on dispute resolution, providing legal advice on litigation and arbitration in civil, commercial, regulatory, infrastructure and construction matters.
María José has acted as counsel in domestic and international arbitrations under the rules of the Chamber of Commerce and Mediation, ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ad hoc arbitrations, among others.
Ms. Alcalde has also participated in proceedings under the Public Works Concessions Law, both before the Concessions Technical Panel (DAB) and before the Conciliation and Arbitration Commissions.
Prior to joining Alcalde & Cía, María José worked at White & Case LLP, Washington D.C. (2015-2018) in the area of arbitration and at the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office, Chile (2011-2014).
Since 2020, she teaches Procedural Law at Universidad de Santiago.
